Inductive Logic Programming (ILP) is a form of relational learning that is at the cutting-edge of extracting symbolic descriptions from data. ILP systems have, in the past, been used with success on difficult problems in the sciences, engineering, language understanding and the arts.

ILP 2004 is the fourteenth in a series of international conferences on ILP. We are pleased to announce that this year the International Conference on Inductive Logic Programming will return to its place of birth in Portugal.

The proceedings of the ILP Conference will be published in the LNAI series of Springer-Verlag.
